Here are some challenge tips and general things to keep in mind.
Don't judge a book by it's cover.
Challenge dates, series, and logical progression can map out a strategy and save 1000's of hours.
A wise G51 member once said: Sometimes you have to take a break, have a coffee and try again.
Beginner challenges are likely little "gotchyas" and don't require much investigation.
Intermediate challenges might require some effort and a bit of research.
Advanced challenges.... you get my drift.
In every challenge there is an undeniable answer that when found, there is no doubt and it's not really open to interpretation. You will know. This doesn't mean that there can't be more then one answer. In some cases you may find a different answer that's just as good as the intended one from the challenge creator; in this case your response will be judged and points awarded accordingly.

Google the obvious and sometimes not so obvious (insert coffee break here).
Sometimes you have to think like a hacker. Sometimes like the law enforcement agency. Sometimes you shouldn't think, trust your gut. Some challenges are designed to get you to look at things differently.
Remember, the best way through a locked door is through an open window.
Hope this helps.
